I have the opportunity to purchase a 306 which was built in 2002 it is owned by a Hunter dealer but never been in the water, It has apparently been a show model, The problem is the boat has some gel cracks in the cockpit floor at the cockpit locker corners si this serious ?, should I go ahead with the purchase ?, The dealer has said he will repair the cracks. Thanks for any advice. Ted.

Stress vs Gel Coat Thickness

Depends what caused the cracks. If by stress then it may be serious depending what is involved, like a structrual component. If they were caused by a thick layer of gel coat - then it's cosmetic.

another thing to consider

is that if the boat was never in the water, the stress cracks could be from the hundreds of people and kids that were jumping around in the boat while the boat was out of it's 'natural surroundings' (water with better weight distribution). I would think that if hunter is willing to fix the current damage with a garuntee and uphold the warranty for years to come, then all should be well. But by all means, use your better judgement, the last thing you want is trampoline for a cockipit/deck in 5 years.
