We recently discovered (last night) that our new-to-us Hunter '23 has a 10" long crack that runs vertically accross the waterline. It is located near the position of the bulkhead. The crack appears to go through the gel coat. How can we repair something like this? Does anyone have any first-hand experience with cracks in this location? I've also noticed some hairline cracks around deck fittings, etc. and would like to know how they can be repaired. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, John Cerulean (Hunter 23)

Do you have access to a FAX number? If so, send it to me and I'll send you the 'how to' via FAX. Or I could scan each page and send it via email. Let me know. fcook1@stny.rr.com It's pretty simple. Ike 'Freebie'

shouldn't be too hard....

What you need to do is to grind out the crack until you get to "good" fiberglass and then re-glass the area. If you've never worked with fiberglass you need to either find a good book or an article on how to do this right. The other thing I would do, is to try to find out what caused this crack in the first place..... Chris S/V Doghouse Houston, TX ckluczkowski@ato.com
