My 2007 gear shift at the helm has always been difficult to move. Once in forward or reverse it moves the throttle smoothly. The cable has no sharp bends or kinks. My analysis is the short mechanical advantage the cable has at the transmission arm. Does anybody know of a fix for this and does anyone else have this problem? thanks, wayne

No there is no reason why moving the gearshift should be that difficult. Check the transmission lever manually to see if it offers any undue resistance and if it does not then it is the cable. The wire should easily slide on the sheath. Lubricate or replace. You might also want to check the cable routing at the control lever to make sure it is properly routed.
