Anyone know what the gasket size is for the Gray opening ports on the H34? I'm going to replace the gasket and rebed but I want to have all the materials before I pop them out.
I got my material from hunter direct. dont know the size and it comes in a line not premade for yourport. i have not used this yet. make sure you do a little research on rebedding if you have not done this and for sure dont use 3m 5200 unless you have a jack hammer for removal down the road. i used 3m marine grade white silicone four yrs ago and it seemed to work just fine. its messy so tape off your area and a tip is to use a cup with very soapy water to dip you finger in to better smooth out the bead of caulk. good luck and it gets better as you go. craig
I would suggest that you look in the Boat/US catalog and get the Bomar/Gray model number for your ports based on their size. You can then get the right gasket from Boat/US, West Marine or Bomar/Gray by special order. The gasket can be installed using only rubber cement.
They have the correct gasket material in a roll. It has a self adhesive on the back. You peel the wax paper and stick it in the old track. Put the joint at the top center of the port. I cut the material with the cutting tools sold by Sears (knife against a flat plastic packing) at a 45 degree angle. Not a leak since.
