Its a simple graphite gasket. You can buy the material from auto shop and cut it yourself. no need for prefect dimension.

order one from Yanmar parts near you and would love to see the stainless elbo you are getting or any info where who you got it from.

Don't know which engine, Jose.. but if a 2GMF the gasket part number is 128170-13201. If you have a 3GMF, the gasket part number is 128370-13201.
As has been noted, you can easily make this flat gasket from graphite gasket material, using either the old gasket as a pattern or the end of the ell adapter for a pattern..

Where the gasket goes

Just to clarify, the gasket isn't for the elbow but rather the manifold. You have to remove the two piece together by pulling the four bolts to the manifold. Then you need a gorilla to separate the two unless you dip the elbow in an acid wash instead. Any Yanmar dealer has the proper gasket.

I am sure you have a Yanmar dealer close to you in San Deigo. The part numbers given to you are correct in the afore mentioned response. Go with an original gasket. Don't make one. Unless you like redoing your work. Just did the same thing on my 2GMF. Think is only a few bucks. Make sure you scrape off all of the old one, so there will be no leaks. Good Luck.

Thanks for all the replies,
I found Dependable Marine in San Diego, I will call them to ask,
is absolutely necessary to take both pieces togheter and then separate them, is not possible to take out only the elbow?

Take both pieces off and replace. Just undo the 4 bolts, put the new pieces together. It's much easier and why not..... You have an entirely new section.

Elbo

I have seen this type of elbo on the yanmars at sailboat shows and have asked about it and they said not for sailboat and it could allow water into engine.
My engine exhaust hose does have a loop before exiting the boat and think this type of exhaust elbo would improve the engine performance for sure but worry about water backing up into the engine.

The guidance from Yanmar is that if the exhaust inlet to the ell is 8" or less above the water line, then the upside-down U outlet is necessary along with an anti-siphon valve on the cooling water line to the ell.. This was noted in the 2QM manual, but I am thinking it is the same for the GM.. If you have a U shape, then ya probably should go back with same.. If a straight one, then you may be OK with the stainless part?
Of note on that stainless outlet is that the Yanmar cast part (not the U shape) has the exhaust in an inner tube.. the water flows in an annulus prior to being dumped into the exhaust stream through a circumferential opening a couple of inches downstream of the hose connection.. May not make a difference other than the OD of the tube running much hotter, but ya never know.
EDIT NOTE: The water inlet to the hot gas part of the outlet pipe MUST be lower in elevation than the lowest part of the exhaust outlet port of the engine, otherwise water will get into the engine. The annular opening inside the Yanmar part (where the water comes out into the exhaust stream) is an inch or so below the gas inlet to the elbow. It looks like there may be an annulus in the stainless part, but I can't see the place where the water gets mixed into the exhaust stream.

Hi Nick, I have now a U type elbow that has the form of a loop itself and also the exhaust hose has a tall loop near the exit at the transom.
So I think the engine will be protected with this tall loop and get a better performance with the SS elbow, at this moment the U type looks like is almost clogged with dirt and rust.

Yanmar tech

Next time at a sailboat show I will want to ask the yanmar techs at the show,I am pretty sure we need the u mixing elbo and I am not ready to experiment with my 07 3YMG yanmar just yet and so let us know how it works out.

The loop at the transom is to stop seawater from comming in through the exhaust outlet in the boat. The mixing elbow mixes with the hot exhaust and cools it so it doesn't burn up the exhaust hose. Water infiltration from this type of exhaust may alow the water from the engine cooling to migrate into the engine because there is no loop. I would be very concerned about using this. If you do try it, post your results for us... If you will..good luck
