We recently brought a O'day 25 with an inboard and I am concerned that the gas tank is located in the same space as the engine. I have done some reading and most articles surgest the gas tank should be separated from the engine by a bulkhead (in case of a leak). A buddy of mine had a OD25 and I think the gas tank was under the forepeak..... Any ideas or surgestions? Thanks.....Steve

Ed,I had everything, hardware, wood, rails, ports, everything off the boat for the winter until I painted it. The winches are still waiting to be installed. I have the original Enkes AR8 winches that I am not happy with and might change them out for something else. r.w.landau

R.W. I've seen a couple of folks who have done a box like this. Since you built yours have you noticed and difference in the feel of the cockpit? How about when you have three or four adults on board? Does it feel really cramped? I've been thinking about building a box under the port bench with a hatch facing the other bench so as not to have to try and creat a port hatch like my starboard hatch. Don't hink I could pull it off and make it look right but a box with a slide out shelf on which the tank could ride makes use fo that space at the deepest part of the quarterberth. Later, Mike

Hi guys...life has been a bit crazy of late, but I do get in from time to time to check out the forum. Hello and welcome Steve, I meant to write earlier and mention we are not that far apart in geography. I sail my 25 out of Bracebridge on Lake Muskoka. Anything I can assist you with just holler. R.W. the box looks great...I love the beveredge holder...nice touch. I plan on emailing you about other things happening. Mike you are very busy with boat projects. Your idea about using the port berth space is interesting, but would be very fussy to get right IMHO. The cockpit box is an easy project, very useful and serves as a spare seat. Nice to be back...8^) Don
