Gas gauge does not work

I have a 1989 Catalina 30 Tall Rig. I have 3 gauges on the same panel. Temperature/Fuel level/Battery charge. The temperature and battery charge work fine. The gas gauge recently stopped working and the arrow indicator dropped completely down. I know that I have at least 1/2 tank. Any ideas on what the problem is and how to correct.....Jeff

Probably 90%+ probability that the sending unit on the tank is dead. Not a hard DIY fix to replace the unit.

Unless you have the sending unit with 6 screws and you cant find any of those anymore. All of the new ones have five screws.
