Garmin Email
That's the way it was here a year ago. You are phoning a completely different call center than we are here in the states. Just hope they don't do the same thing to the UK support team that they evidently have to the US office.
Could I have that phone number?
Think This is it Roger along with mail No. at Bottom
Dear Iain
Thank you for contacting Garmin(Europe)Ltd.
Thanks for your phone call earlier with regards to your phone call about
your GPS MAP 450 dropping satellites. Please try the following.
Please be aware that if you have not used your gps for a while it will
take time to download fresh information.
With the unit switched off please press and hold HOME and POWER until
the unit powers on asking do you wish to erase all user data.
You will lose any data stored on the unit so back your unit up first. I
would also suggest running the latest software update from the following
link, if you have not already done so
https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/downloadsUpdates.jsp?product=010-00515-50&cID=150&pID=8056
You can load the update onto a blank standard SD card then just plug it
into the 450 and it should recognise that there is an update available
and give you the option to update software.
Once all this is done please leave your unit with a clear view of the
sky and allow it to acquire a satellite fix. This may take time so
please be patient. Once you have a fix leave the unit for a further 40
minute to achieve a good almanac update.
If there is anything else I can help with please let me know.
Kind regards
