Mast Mount 25 feet above waterline
My mast mounted radar is about 25 feet above the water and I can see radar images within one boat length of the boat. Ross is correct about the real way radar works versus the theory Clyde is talking about. If something is already within a boat length before you make corrections, then it is way too late to miss! Also, the mast should be plenty strong to support the radar.
