Anyone have the Garmin GPSmap60c? My parents have decided to give me a GPS for my birthday (pretty nice gift, eh!) After some looking around, they suggested the Garmin would be a nice one, but they are not boaters, nor technologically inclined. I have an old GPS now, but would like to have chartplotting capability. In fact, I have a laptop with charts but the GPS is too old to talk to the computer. I figure a chartplotter gps would be nice to have so I won't have to lug the computer down to the boat. Comments on the GPSmap 60c please... Also, do I need to buy the charts with this or can I use my NDI charts? Any other GPS units I should look at? Thanks

Great Unit

I have a 60C and am very pleased with it. It is a very versitile GPS. Granted it's a bit smaller screen than the larger units, but it is very good with the maps and all the other features. You do have to purchase the map source package and choose your region though. Its very easy to upload maps, waypoints, routes, etc...

thanks

After much indecision, I went for the GPSMap76c. It seems like a great gps, but it'll take some time getting used to it. -Rob
