Well, I've finally decided to replace my very old Garmin-45 GPS. I am planning to purchase a Garmin 76CSX. With their $100 rebate offer, I think it is a pretty good price.I know I can purchase a bluechart for lots of details, but I just can't quite see navigating only using a e-chart on a 1.5"x2.2" display. I plan to continue to use my large paper charts when I am cruising, but I would like to know what level of marine information details comes preloaded on the unit as part of the basemap. For example, are there any info on bouys, marinas, depth contours, coastline, etc. I assume I can set any of these info as a waypoint, or display all of the nearest bouys, maybe also in distance order. I think tide software is preloaded, how about current? Thanks in advance.
