I want to hook up the NEMA from my Garmin 180 to send data to my Furuno 1652 (?) radar. I called the Furuno tech and they said not to use the regular NEMA wires from the Garmin. Does anyone know what wires to use besides the brown and blue? The tech said to just try all the wires. Someone must have done this before. The blue and brown sends NEMA to my Autohelm just fine. I also have the Rayethon depth/knots that has SeaTalk. Can that also send data to the Furuno? Thanks

NEMA

Doesnn't make any sense. On both my Garmins there's only two lines that have NEMA. However, if I recall correctly you do need to use the ground line from the Garmin for the common on both transmit and receive. You'll need a seatalk to NEMA convertor from Raymarine to get the seatalk data into the radar. Bryce S/V Spellbinder H410

Thanks for the information. Now it makes sense. Furuno said to use the Garmin ground as one of the wires to the radar in. But the tech didn't know which other wire from the Garmin. Will let you know what happens. Will also check out SeaTalk at West Marine.
