garmin 72 problems?

I am having problems w/ my brand new garmin 72 gps unit.Despite going to the "Map Set up"page and changing it,the unit always remains w/"North Up".The setting will be "Course Up" or "Track Up" and it dosnt matter,it still stays North Up.The reputable seller has gone through three units and it is still happening.Is anyone else having a problem like this?This Garmin is perfect for me,feature and price wise.I would like to own it.I just want it to work.LLOYD

Contact Garmin customer service. They are the most helpful people I have ever dealt with. They support their product.lot's of luck

Get Update

Garmin provides free update software for their GPS units. The latest release for the 72 has a date of Apr. 29, 2003.You will need the cable that connects between a PC and the 72. But you should be regularly updating your unit anyhow, so buy the cable. You can also backup the routes, waypoints and tracks on your GPS to your PCI did not see any reference to elimate the problem that you sight. However, if there is a bug in the program in your unit, an update should eliminate it.Click on "related link" below for the webpage for the free update for the 72.
