I want to integrate my Garmin 431 with my Raymarine ST60s (I have depth, speed and wind direction/speed). I've purchased the Raymarine E85001 Interface Box and a 1 metre SeaTalk cable (D284). My plan is to use one end of the the SeaTalk cable to plug into an open female plug on an ST60 display, and to bare the wires from the other end of the SeaTalk cable to go into one side of the E85001 Interface Box (red, uncolored and yellow, going left to right I believe to the 3 center connections only). The other side of the Interface Box will receive the NMEA 0183 wires from the Garmin 431 (images I have seen suggest blue transmit to the NMEA 0183 OUT negative and brown receive to the NMEA 0183 OUT positive but that seems funky to me).

The Garmin already has power going to it (red and black), while the ST60s also have power and are "daisy chained" to each other.

Could someone please confirm both sides of the wiring connections into the Interface Box before I blow up a $150 item? <grin> Do I need to be concerned about power to the Interface Box or only the data connections?

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

The brown is the Nmea 0183 "IN" signal (+) and the Blue is Nmea 0183 "OUT" signal (+). The black is the ground and also the return signal (-)

Therefore the brown should go to the (+) out on the Raymarine and the blue should go to the in (+) on the Raymarine.

The in/out (-) of the Raymarine goes to the garmin black/grnd.

If you are only going to recieve information from the ST60 Instruments, you need only connect the brown and black to wires the Raymarine interface.

I think I got that right.

Good Luck
