garmin 162, noaa charts

Has anyone seen an ad for free down loading of NOAA charts in a sailing magazine? I thought I marked one last week but now can,t find it. I have a Garmin 162 GPS/plotter and was wondering if maptech charts will work, I emailed maptech without any reply.Thanks,Robert A. PhillipsHunter 30

I don't think so.

I installed a 162 on our new Hunter 460. Its a great unit but I understand it only accepts downloads from a CD ROM available from Garmin which I purchased. The charts are not much use since they don't include numbers on the marks and it they do not include bottom contours or depth information.
