Garhauer Rigid Vang Install

Wanting to install a Garhauer rigid vang on our 87' C27. Test fitting the vang places the vang boom bracket midway between the first forward most bale and the middle bale of the mainsheet system. What have others done with the routing of the mainsheet. I would have to eliminate the block/bale on the boom closes to the mast. Have seen a pic or two of the mainsheet following the vang to a mast base block, then over to the double deck blocks and back to the clutch. Any problems with routing the mainsheet this way. Does it effect the stress loads on the boom by removing that forward block. Can't see any other way to install the vang without interfering with the 3 block/bale system on the boom.

Go to a two bale system with a single and a double block. Move the bales if you want. If you have a dodger, route the traveler forward along the boom then down and around the side to a cleat or winch (not angled down, it conflicts with the vang). This is another purchase leg. The link will give you some ideas. http://www.harken.com/content.aspx?id=3901 If you don't have a dodger, you don't need to route the mainsheet forward.. just use it normally.

Have the Garhauer rigid vang installed on the 270, and completely changed the mainsheet routing with a 3:1/6:1 block setup. It's way cleaner, easier and doesn't require all the goofy factory routing, or a winch.
