I have a Garhauer Rigid Boom Vang that was on the boat when I purchased. It rubs the bimini. Is there a way to raise the vang?

Not without raising the boom....

you might try compressing it some and moving the mount on the boom closer to the mast. That should allow it to clear the bimini..

rigid vang adjustment

David; The rigid vang's attachment points on the mast and boom have been engineered for best performance. Since the bimini is the non-essential element here, you might have better luck moving it.

Verify with Garhauer first....

... Give Mark or Guido at Garhauer a call. (909 985-9993) Mark is the person who designs and fabricates the brackets for the vang. He would be able to tell you if and how much you can move it. My belief is that you may be able to move the boom bracket at least one set of holes forward. The ideal setting for the vang is to have the boom just below horizontal when the thing is fully compressed. If you can still attain this position by moving it forward a bit then it should be okay.
