Has anyone built a platform for a garhauer lift on an older Catalina 30? If so could you share how you did it? Thank you.

Not sure I understand

Barb, I assume you are asking about the dinghy motor lift. The base of the lift goes onto a kind of ball fitting that Garhauer supplies right with the lift. You just screw that ball fitting onto the deck and the bottom section of the lift tube slides right over it. Garhauer's catalog actually shows the lift on a C30. Perhaps I'm not understanding your question and can't think of where a "platform" comes into play. Stu

Garhauer

Thanks Stu, I guess I am fearful of drilling into the deck. But that probably is the sturdiest way to handle it!

Ball connection

Barbara There are only three or four holes to drill, and you don't have to dig deep, since the load is all going straight down, no sideways push, so you don't need long screws to do it. Just put some silicone in the holes after you drill them and bed the ball fitting in silicone and you'll be fine. Stu
