Has anybody installed a Garhauer Rigid Boom Vang? If so, how did you mount the track to the mast? How about the piece for the boom, how wa it mounted?

Garhauer sends you instructions on how to make diagrams of your spars. Basically you press a piece of solder against the mast and boom, and then lay the solder on paper and trace it. They'll weld/bend two toggles for you and you'll tap your spars for screws to hold them. Don't expect a perfect fit, but it is good enough.

Gerhauer Vang

I have a Gerhauer Vang on my 260. I had them send tracks with it instead of the custom bent brackets. Makes it very easy to remove for trailering. Just drill and tap the holes for the tracks in the mast and boom.

Oh yeah,

use loctite on the threads of the machine screws or they will work loose.
