I bought this system based on all the positive feedback. Like other Garhaeur equipment, this unit seems well constructed. I'm ready to use it...now the problem... I can not figure out how to slide the main adjustable car onto my genoa track. My boat is a 1992 Catalina 30 with inside tracks. The track mounting is slightly recessed into the deck resulting in the top portion of the track being even with the deck, which is not allowing this piece to slide onto the track. I can get the first couple inches on at an angle, but can't go further. I am probably missing something really easy. I sure don't want to have to take off my track to accomodate the installation. Any thoughts from other owners? I'm not the first one to buy this system and would really appreciate some feedback. My next step is to call the great folks at Garhaeur.

Did you tell them you had a recessed track?

if not, you need to. Also, consider loosening the aft bolt and sliding it on.

update to follow...

I will post an update after calling Garhaeur later today. Stu, I placed the order directly with Guido, we did not discuss the recessed rail (I didn't even consider this at the time)...we did discuss it being for a 1992 C-30 and he knew what to send. Regarding the install, I was trying it from the forward side of the rail...I thought this side would be easier as it had more "space" between the deck and the rail vs. the aft section. Lets see what Guido says. Thanks for the comments.

the answer is...

and is basically what Stu advised...Bill said to loosen the first few bolts to get the track slightly elevated. After getting the car on the track, I will re-do the sealant around those bolts.
