Gang Plank

Does anyone have any information on an inexpensive small gang plank
suitable for a 35 Beneteau?
I would either like to buy one, or if someone has some plans, I would build one.

How long a plank do you need? how heavy are the people that will walk it? Do you need a hand rope on it? My first choice would be a 2x12 pressure treated pland with 3/4x1/2 cleats nailed on at 3 inch intervals.

Two thoughts:

1. I use a small block and tackle to pull the boat over tight to the dock when my wife is boarding. She has vertigo and has had joints replaced. I attach the tackle to the boat with 1/8-inch nylon: if I stupidly leave it attached or a monster wake comes in, I want it to be breakable.

2. A light extension ladder section makes a great plank for heavy use, though it's not very portable. I filled the space in with a sheet of plywood, and it was a fanstastic aid when we repowered on the water.
