Somebody out there....how the heck do you get the table down far enough to make a comfortable bed in the Hunter 38? It sticks up about 5 inches....definately cannot make a bed that way!!! Help, have company coming and need to use it!

If you get it to move at all just do more of the same. On my 40.5 legend you have to unscrew the hand clamp AND pivot the table back and forth to get it to go down. If you put a bind on it it also makes it really hard to get down. Push down near the attachment point.

I have read in previous posts that sometimes the lines inside the mast on weights can hang up. On my boat the table goes down with a hard push.

Tracy, on our 2005 38 the two pedestals that support the table are removable and when we have need to use the dinnete as a berth we get the pedestals out of the way. The table top then rests on the edges of the dinnete benches. When all the cushions are in place, the area supported by the tabletop is about 2 inches higher than the other cushions and makes for a bed with a hill in the middle. This can be resolved using folded blankets on the dinnete benches to bring those cushions up to the level of the table top.
I have thought about cutting down the edges of the table so that it would drop down between the benches, but I don't want to ruin the table top.
