I have an Oday 25 and changed to a 1" seacock with a 'T' below the water line on the sink discharge that supplies the intake for a marine head. The hull was not thick enough to use countersunk screws so Phillips head screws were used instead.
Mine was in poor condition so I took it out and glassed over the hole. I will try to reroute the sink drain but for now I will put a bucket under the sink. For as much as I use the sink. I don't like holes under the water line. Just another thing to worry about. The only other thing below the waterline is a transducer but that was forward and seemed to be in decent shape.
I had mine changed by my marina before my first season. $110 labor, $43 parts. I let them do it as I had plenty of other things to do. Good thing too. The original gate valve was corroded and locked in the open position.
