I know how alot of you feel about a slide out galley (taking up space) but we never just daysail, always spending at least 2 nights so I made one for the Admiral. Has anyone on here tried to hook up just a typical sink sprayer for their galley sink? I did not want to go buy the parts if it just won't work with 3/8 hose and 35psi? Thanks

Nice work.

Save the experiment time, go sailing instead.

Take a look at the fresh water (drinking) pumps in any marine or RV catalog.

35 psi will blow your socks of just fine. :)

Enjoy.

Stu thanks already had a little pump so thought I would use it and thought it would conserve water. Really wish I could sail right now but in OKlahoma it's too brrrrrrrrrrrrr cold for my crew, yet they want to go hiking for the weekend???? WTH? But hey I got about 5 weeks to prepare and I am so ready lift those sails!

I think you may regret that store drawer design...it is going to be hard to cook staying bent over, and it is likely to be hit/stepped on.

May I suggest building a recessed area on the top, with a cutting board cover?

I appreciate your suggestion, but I'll tell you why I did not. I always cook with the poptup up for ventilation because I'm very concerned about gas in an enclosed area (even though it's butane). If it is on the countertop, right above that, is carpet (original) which absorbs odors, smoke stains etc. So in the isle, where it will basically be, above that is the poptop which will be open and a far greater distance up then the carpet. I even made a cardboard cutout to see what would work best for us and came up with this...we can sit on the settee to tend to it while whatever is heating, which is never longer then 5 minutes (coffee or soup etc.) and in that short period we can refrain from moving through the isle. I also wanted the extra counter top. We only cook in calm water.

And BTW....in a Macgregor cabin we are used to being stooped over.

I have that same little stove. I just put it out in the cockpit to make my coffee. One concern I have though is how hot does the bottom get? Maybe I should have a board under it.

Yea I like the little stove too, it really gets it on fast when boiling water or heating stuff up. Cost me $17.95 with a case and the little cans of butane are $1.50 and last me a couple of weekends. I've worried about the heat too so I'm going to put that new silicone mats that are heat resistant underneath it. I've had that little stove over 2 years and no sign of rust yet and it's so compact.

On my B235 I got a wood cutting board and cut it to fit into the countertop. I routed out a recess in the middle of the board to fit an Origo 1500. I could set the board/stove on the cockpit floor, access it from the cabin, and the stove being set back from the edge gave it some margin of safety. I could also set it on the cockpit table.

Actually the more I look at my homemade galley, IT looks like a freaking filing cabinet...What was I thinking??
