Galley Bench Top

Twelve months ago we bought a new Beneteau 423 which we have thoroughly enjoyed. It spends some of its time in charter. There are two matters that I would appreciate advice on. Firstly, there seems to be an ongoing problem with the galley bench top in that it stains badly if coffee, red wine and such like are spilt on it. It also splits and cracks which the agents regularly repair. I understand from the agents that the finish to our bench top is gel coat, and is different from other boats. Is this a common problem? Also, when healed during sailing the hand basins in the heads go below the water line. We avoid flooding up through the hand basins by closing the sea cocks but have found that others using the boat sometimes forget. Is there a one-way valve or other fitting that can be fitted to the drains to prevent this flooding?
