The problem with that storm sail solution is: 1, you have to go forward to rig it.... 2, it is placed high and extremely forward, away from the center of effort..... when it should placed in the other direction.
Why not invest in a detachable inner forestay so you can rig a proper storm jib. Then you only have to go halfway to the foredeck to set up the sail.... not the pulpit.
If I anticipated sailing in waters where I might need a storm jib, that would be a consideration.
