Jack, the wooden risers appear to be made of teak. They are thru-bolted
through the cabin roof with large washers. There are no backing plates
(although, if I were doing the job, I would have put some in) and no
sign of stress or leaking inside. The traveller is thru-bolted with

something on the underside of the fiberglass, as well as the wood
beneath the winches?
