Good morning Lori,
We had to do quite some changes:
Major are: glassed in new bearers and a stern tube (for a new,
waterlubricated shaft) Most of this was done by a proffesional shipyard.
Minor things where instrument pannel, exhaust, morse handle, battery wiring
etc.
Because our Vega is 1033 it had the original OS2 petrol engine, it takes
quite a lot work to repower these. Steven Birch of the VAGB (U.K.) makes
quite a nice job in repowering kits (with the Beta engine), with a pretty
good manual/directions. Work always involves new bearing beams if the
original engine is an OS2...
p.s. our Volvo is not 100% seawater cooled as it has an intercooler...
We launched last Saturday as well (in the same cold gale from the East...)
but the motor started first thing!
Hielke
keep in touch, with the Dutch!
