A lot of time there is mold in the fabric. That is not easy to remove.
You may consider one of those small upholstery cleaners (Bissell) and see how that works. The other option is to get a commercial one from a rental place.
When I first started working on my H37C the "rug" lining was in poor/dirty shape. My solution was to wet out the rug with a 700 psi power washer, soap up with Super Clean (from Pep Boys), let set and they power wash the dirt off. Worked great, wear rain gear. The lower setting on the washer did not lift the liner.
In March when the weather changes, I will use my carpet extractor to clean the fuzzy walls. I tried a section by hand using Rug Doctor cleaning solution and added some Oxi-Clean powder. Works really well. I will make up a gallon jug and use it in the machine. By using the machine rather than a power washer, I don't get wet, the interior will take less time to dry and I dont need to hook up to the water supply. All of this will be done before I bring all the equipment back on board which is currently winterized in my basement workshop.
