Trying to locate main buss fuse, I believe the book says it's 40amps an located by battery. The only one I see is a 10 amp.. Also, I removed the batteries to charge, now I'm not sure what wires go to what terminal. Have electric start 9.9 so should I just connect the red to + and black/grn/white to -??? Thanks....

Red (+) and Yellow (-)

On my 2001, H260 the positive wire is red (inside the shield) and the negative wire is yellow (also inside the black shield). The fuse is in-line on the positive side wire, also inside the plastic shield. I moved my batterys to inside the wet locker in the head to balance the weight in the stern and move some of it forward. (see picture). Here I'm able to have two batterys and they are much more accessable. I also put a switched fuse in the line so I can shut the system off or reset the fuse. The Hunter fuse was very hard to find a replacement for and very expensive.

260 Fuse

Brigg is correct. The fuse & holder cost me $48.00 from Hunter. Must have been crazy! I now have two 40A Maxi Fuses to replace the inline fuses. The fuses cost 3.95 and are available in any auto or marine store. I also put my batteries in the galley and the the port setee. Much easier to service http://pws.chartermi.net/~gkobernus/H260_Web/electrical.htm

Nice site George & my fuse ;)

George, not only do you do very nice work on your H260 but the pictures and web site are top flight. I've attached a picture of my DC fuse switch and gauges which sit just to port of the stairs under the cockpit. I can throw the switch-fuse and lock out the whole DC system. Brigg
