Can someone fill me in on DC Marine fuses for 12v? I need to replace fuses as part of rewiring of a small runabout I've acquired. I guess the Rule bilge pump should be slow-blow to allow for the start up draw. How do you tell if the fuse in slow blowing by looking at it? And what would be an appropriate ampere limit (I know the fuse protects the wire. The wire is about 4' of 16 or 18 gage)? What does AGC mean? Some fuses have a spiral wire through them. Others straight. What's the difference? I need a fuse for the + from the battery to the panel, and from the battery which is about 12' of 12 gauge wire. All of the load couldn't add up to 10 amps. Fish Finder, GPS, Stereo, running lights, bilge pump. What should I use?
Apologies for my ignorance. I've been to many websites but haven't found this basic information.

Since this thread went over like a lead balloon, I tried a different search and found this which I am posting for the benefit of anyone else who doesn't know what fuse sizes to use.

If you read the comments you'll see there's differences in opinion about fuse, and wire size but at least it's a place to start.
