The pennies for the screw-in type are conspicuous by their absence. I've actually seen those.

And I have seen a bolt in a buss fuse holder before.

I once observed a sawed off (you could see the hacksaw marks) Homac 2/0 Butt Splice connector in place of a fuse on the control panel of an Emergency Diesel Generator at a commercial nuclear power plant ! Long time ago and at a place with a lot of problems.

When I Saw this thread I had to share this fuse I found in a machine.

I remember those.
Our CPO had a bunch made up by a couple of sailors, new grads from electronics school. Distributed to all the mechanics tool boxes. I think they were identified as a “mark 3 common electrik gen spacer”. You insert them in the box when you’ve tried everything else and nothing is working.

When ask if they helped he said “Well it couldn’t hurt.”
