Furuno wind transducer to autohelm wind display

Anyone ever done this? I've heard its possible but he said ill need a wiring diagram for the furuno wind transducer. Can't find one online anyone know where to come up with one? Also ill prolly need a wiring for the autohelm side. But any ever try this will it work? Any advice in the hooking up. Thanks in advanced for the input!!

Wow, not sure that will work. I can't be certain, but I think the Autohelm wind vane is not a synchro sender, but likely a potentiometer that the control head uses to produce an error voltage to control steering. I have one of the older Autohelm wind vanes, and it is terminated in 1/4" stereo plug. The Furuno wind transducer is likely a synchro sender.

That said, what model Autohelm do you have? What model wind transducer?

Its an autohelm st50 and the furuno is a fI-5001. So the way the data is sent is different makes sense. Wouldn't wanna sell your wind vane would you haha

Thanks, but I don't think my wind vane would work with the ST-50. I can't find a reference to an ST-50 autopilot. I would think that it would want the wind data via the Seatalk bus. You would therefore need an ST-50 wind instrument and transducer.
