Any ideas? My Furuno scanner has a cogged belt connecting the drive motor to the antenna. There is no provision for alignment. When I got it, I had an occasional problem with the drive wheel on the motor riding up on the shaft. I installed a set screw (additional) on it and the problem went away. This last week I had a similar problem when the belt came off. Only this time the drive wheel looked perfect. I tried a variety of things and the belt would ride up and come off the drive wheel after a few dozen RPM. Finally, I put a small washer under the plate under one of the mounting screws. I had it on for about 20 minutes and it seemed fine.

So, what do you think is going on here? the shafts do not seem worn. Everything seems fine. I would guess the unit has a thousand to fifteen hundred hours on it. Anyone have a similar problem. I suspect it's rare.

Update on Furuno Scanner Issue

I sent an inquiry to Furuno, but no response yet. I will post what they say. Anyhow, I ran the unit for a total of five or six hours with no failure, so I have maybe found a solution by accident. I still don't get the alignment issue.
