I recently bought a Hunter 240. I want to install a headsail furler. I would like to know other owners' experience in self installing a furler.

CDI

One of the most popular brands is CDI, and Hunter does or used to install them on the H260. They are fairly inexpensive, and can be self-installed without great effort and come with a lifetime guarantee. You will have to have the jib recut and have a UV edge added, but a furler is a very nice convenience. Suggest you determine which CDI size you need and then order it via a catalog company such as Defender Industries - much cheaper.

Check out SailNet

I was thinking of this one for my 23.5 and was wondering what others who have them think seems like a good deal. Crazy Dave I beleive suggests the CDI FF2 for our boats. www.sailnet.com/view.cfm?page=3429

Ball Bearings!

Just make sure you get the ball bearing option for your CDI furler. I didn't get it at first, I have it now, and it makes a great deal of difference. The jib now rolls up easier than a window shade!
