Furling System-222

I have a 222 that has had a CDI furling system with a 150% genoa installed. It also has a new fully battened main with a jiffy reefing system. Does anyone know if I'm supposed to be able to reef the genoa? I've already done this a couple times but wasn't sure if I'm supposed to be doing this. Since a previous owner installed the reefable main at the same time he installed the CDI furler I assumed the furler was also meant to be reefed. After some additional reading I now know that not all furling systems are meant to be reefed, I just don't know about mine yet.Mike

Thanks for the quick response. The owner that installed this furler was aware of the importance of securing the reef line. He has it running to the cockpit through two cam locks and ending with a cleat. I've been very happy with it's performance. I also checked out CDI's website which informative.Mike

REEFING FURLER ON 222

i DON'T KNOW IF YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO REEF A 150 CD1 FF2 FURLER, BUT I DO IT WITHOUT MUCH PROBLEMS IN PRETTY HIGH WINDS. YOU MUST REEF A LOT MORE THAN THE SAIL AREA LOOKS AT FIRST BECAUSE THERE IS SOME UNFURLING AT FIRST SO ALSO REEF TIGHTER THAN YOU THINK TOM R
