My new H260 didn't come with any furling line hardware installed. Is there a trick way to route the line to the cockpit so it works with minimal effort and is not under foot so to speak? I looked in the archives and didn't find much - any photos would be helpful too. Where do you mount the cleat to secure the line when the sail is deployed? David Hoch Abundance

An amazing source for answers

is the West Marine/BoatUS catalog. They have all the rigging plus explanations of use and often pictures.

Check your owners manual. It details all the deck hardware. On my 240 3 plastic eyes are mounted on the port side. They lead to a horn cleat. I'm almost postive the diagram and part numbers are in the onwners manual.

David, call me. You have my number

I will be in on Friday afternoon. It sure is a shame you buy a boat and the dealer did not put it together.

David, This is the kind of thing the dealer usually does as part of commissioning. Pretty low tech solution. You need: One small turning block that leads the Furling line to the port side rail. Since this is a 1/8 line, almost any small marine block will do (See the WM cat starting pg 1021. Two or three "bulls-eye" fairleads (WM cat. pg 1055, PN 283616) that attach to the port side stanchions. Don't forget the mounting brackets that attach the fairlead to the stanchion. One "Add-a-cleat" that also mounts on a stanchion to tie the line off at the cockpit. You need to install the turning block on the port side so that it runs in a straight line from the furler to the rail. The Bulls-eye fairleads bring the line back to the cockpit and the cleat. If you need pics, let me know
