i went shopping for a self furling rig for my standard jib on my 23.5 one outfit in houston pushed the harkin furler and even though i told them that virtually all the input i saw on this forum talked in favor of the cdi ff2 furler, they said it was no good because it had a plastic bale which would twist and on and on the harkin proposal they gave me included a new forestay because they said if mine was over 3 years old it had to go and on and on and on ended up quoting me $1,460.00. i went to cameron sails in seabrook and they put a cdi ff2 on my boat, including deck tackle which was about $50.00 (based on someone's good input on here, i had them route the line down the port side so it wouldn't interfere with the anchor locker lid), including preparing my jib for the furler ($100.00), including installation ($100.00), the furler itself was $515.00, but not including the uv protection (which will cost 160.00 when i get around to it) and the total cost including tax was $823.00. the cdi furler works like a charm.
