If it'ds the old CDI furling sys.
The CDI sys. I have has a foil with two slots, and just below the mast head, has it's own builtin block. The trackd have a single LOOped !/4" halyard, one end connects to the top of your head sail, go's up one side, onto the builtin block at the top and down the other stack, You feed thesail and lift by pulling gently on the return halyardn until the sail is fully lifted, a pendant is attached to the bottom of the sail and secured to the builtin cleat ON THR FURL, the excess return line halyard is rolled up and secured also on a bottom cleat on th furl, WHAT I DID is when the sail is fully up, the excess rolled up halayard, took the necessary turns on the cleat, then I cut off the excess, burned the ends, and installed two S/S rings flattened so to fit in the track,(1/4" dia. the two made to connect to each other, so when I wanted to drop the sail, I connected the excess rolled up halyard(which is stored below) and lower the sail. it's a nice setup, for an older unit, I.ve seen modern Hood sys. using the mast halyard, straighten out the 1-19 head stay wire, because the halyard can't rotate and twist and fouls up the halyard and does a number on the head stay wire, which has a natural TWIST. and their covered bottom reel , is another big problem if it snags.
