I think this will help with our low winds every summer. I flew it today, alone with 3 knots of air and couldn't believe it. I was moving along nicely compared to barely moving as usual. The sail is the mizzen sail from a Alberg 37. Having a Harken small boat furler and new mast block made this one of my least expensive additions. If I pull the sail taught it will touch the back cleat but I can't sail it that way. I still need to add a standing block at the furler and furler blocks at the stantions. One pin on the furler is all it takes to put it up. I will only put it up when needed in this low wind. The last 6 pics in my profile show it pretty good. Now I can catch that new J111 with a furling A sym on my dock, lol

After 6 hours testing last night, it sails great on all tacks. I furled it at 8 knots.

OMG.. you have turned your fractional sloop into a cutter rig!! Way cool (and probably not appreciated by your racing friends ;) )

Cheers,
Brad

Hey Brad, my racing friends are ok with it. Not many on the lake have a perfectly "PHRF legal boat" so its not a big deal to them (yet). Never thought about it being a cutter rig until I read your post. I'm going to borrow another whisker pole this weekend and try to fly both sails on a run just for grins. Should be interesting.
Justsomeguy, I furled n tacked and gybe'd it, single sheet. Not sure which is best or fastest yet. I am going to try 2 sheets on it as it is a very light weight sail and might go between it and the genoa. Something else to try this weekend. Charles
