On my hunter 40.5 the jib furling line is frayed . The furling is located underneath in the chain locker. My question is how to remove line . Do I just use a screw driver to push down hole and will come out the bottom? The line is frayed just a few feet out of the furling so I just want cut off bad section as I have tons of line.

So, my local ACE provided replacement nylon screws, but I chose to replace them with stainless cap screws. However, you need to isolate the stainless screws from the aluminum drum with some kind of coating.

...I just went through this, for an embarrassing reason. Assuming you have a hood furler, you first have move the shroud down. You will see three nylon screws holding the shroud on. What you will need is: one small person, one mirror, a head flashlight and an offset flat blade screwdriver. Insert the small person in the anchor locker. Remove the two screws you can see with a flat blade screwdriver. Then take the mirror to locate the screw on the back. Remove it with the offset screwdriver. Drop the shroud down to get access to the underside of the furling drum. Remove the knot and the line. Cut the old line, insert the line through the drum and make a stopper knot. Replace the shroud and pre-load the furler with a couple of turns.

Took screws off but cover won't budge going to try some WD-40 and a wooden stake and hammer to tap and loosen. Unless there is other ideas??
Shroud screws
The reason is you can load them onto the Allen key, which makes installing easier. You can get them in stainless or nylon
I would suggest using socket head cap screws.
