A burly rugby player inadvertently pulled my jib furling line out of the Furlex drum, and I can't figure how to get it back in. Any ideas? Thanks.

If you go to the Selden web site (www.seldenmast.com) you can download the manual for your furler.
For the 200S furler, you have to take the furler drum off and secure the line to a small clip that is between the two halves.

I believe you may have a Furlex 100

Google "manual Furlex 100" for a PDF copy of owners manual. It will show installation procedures to be reversed.

If it were me I would take the sail down for easier working.

1) Remove Line fitting.
2) Remove Guide line bracket.
3) Remove two halfs of lower flange
4) loosen line tightening screw.
5) feedfurling line through oval hole.
6) tighten the line holding screw real, real tight.
8) assemble unit.

Make sure you take steps from preventing parts from going overboard. Perhaps laying a bedsheet against the bow pulpit to serve as net would be in order. Don't allow the Rugby player to help.

Benny has the process about right. Here is the url for the manual:
www.seldenmast.com/_download.cfm?id=5564&download=7726318&filename=595-104-E.pdf

Basically, once you remove the screws on either side of the drum and take off the halves, and drop the line guide (screw underneath) you'll be looking right at the line tightening screw (see pages 47-48 of the manual). As Benny notes, the hardest part of this job is making sure none of the parts/screws go overboard.

If you have trouble finding the manual online, send me an email and I'll send it to you as PDF.
