furler rigging

Just rigged my new to me 1997 H26. It has a CDI roller furler and it seems slack. All shrouds are proper tension and I installed the forestay/furler without any difficulty by just following the manual. Any ideas why it has some slack to it?

Are you sure that the sail is properly sized for the furler?

If the forestay..

... is taut, and the furler is slack, it may be that the CDI extrusion is too long....and may have to be cut or resized.

duh

I examined the furler further today and realized, much to my chagrin, that I had totally missed the turnbuckle on the forestay. All is well now. Thanks for your replies...Bruce
