Does someone know the name brand and or model of the furler unit that Catalina put on the 1985 27 tall rigs?Thanks,Kens/v Spanish Eyes

Roller furling

My 1985 Catalina 30 TR has a CDI (Crusing Design). If you are not familar with them,I will get the info from the boat and post it.They stock very few parts for the older ones, but do have upgrades.

Hi Ken -You can't be sure what is currently on the boat, since owners have a tendency to upgrade their boats and rig over time. My 1986 C36 had a Hood furling system, the one with a continuous line. I think this was original, as I don't know who would choose to upgrade with such a furler! I subsequently changed the drum to Hood's single line system which allow better reefing control.Perhaps a description of the unit will yield some good information.Best,Trevor

My 85 C27 TR came with a Hood 710 LD

I don't know if it was original equipment though.

Sorry, make that a 705 LD on my C27

Its a 705LD not a 710 (I don't think Hood made a 710).
