I finally tood the furler of the boat and unrolled it to see what condition the sail was in. There are several issues. The furler is by Reef Cruiser Design I.
1) The sail is chaffed through at each of the foil joints.
2) Each of the foil joints have an aluminum insert that appears broken or are the suppose to look like that.
3) The top cap has a grove worn in it. Will I need to replace it?
4) Is the total foil suppose to be rigid when raised or added one section at a time after the mast is raised?

Looks like time for the garbage can to me...or the Smithsonian. Sorry.

Sadly

I must agree with the previous post. The parts for these are no longer available. Tom at CDI has some tricks for reusing the inserts, if they are not too far gone, but new parts are to the best of my knowledge no longer available. Give Tom at CDI a call, and he can give you all the dope on this.

There are stay bearings and torque links that join the sections together. The torque links are 5" long. the bearings are 3/4" long. The bearings are located under the links. The parts I have are from a reefer II, but they look the same. I also have good sections. the head fitting appears to be different. Talk to Tom at CDI to confirm if my parts will work with your reefer I.

Thelocoman I was finally able to narrow down furler.

This is the furler that I have.

I need the torque links and a couple of more plastic bearing.
The torque links are 4'' long and they have no screw holes.
Pictured are the only ones that survived.
If I can't find any I may try to cast them out of resin and chopped glass.

Thanks,
Frank
