I recently acquired the above boat. We had to take the mast down to transport it. After putting the mast back up I mounted the jib in the furler track. It furled beautifully but now I cannot get it to unfurl. Any ideas as to the cause and the fix?

I had a similar problem - but in my case I was not able to furl back up. It tuned out that there was an 8" pendant was needed to be placed at the bottom of the jib that I found on the boat. Basically - follow that installation recommendation of the furled - specially how that top should be done and it will work.

I'm guessing that you have a halyard wrap.

This happens when the lead angle to the top furler swivel is too low, and the halyard wraps around the track (extrusion) as you pull out. Be careful, you can seriously damage the forestay. Play with your halyards, or go up the mast on the main halyard if needed.

Often as Joe notes having a pendant on a shorter luffed sail correctly this angle.
