If those straps don't raise the drum high enough, simply call Profurl with the length you desire and they will hook you up.
My slip neighbor had a problem with those long tang-type straps on his C30. When furling, there was so much play in the straps and pins they would rotate/twist in the process. He got a bar of ss, had it bent in a u shape to fit the clevis pin. Still some slack, but not as much. $$$

I had the same concern when I saw it on the internet. But after I put these in the drum assembly, it feels like they are precise enough that there is little slack.
I think it could twist up to 15 degrees or so with out effect, because the drum and the foil sections are connected, the tangs and cage are a free floating thing anyway. And the line is lead fair by a boat mounted lead. But I know what you mean I wouldn't allow any slop going on there either. anything that's not rotating should be stiff and held in place. I may get it installed this weekend.

The lap links are held in by the pin below and appropriate washers to keep it stiff. Mine never move.
