How is the lower furler attached to the horziontal bar attached to the stem fitting? My boat has a U bolt holding the two together and it is very sloppy allowing the lower rope shroud to rotate and bind the furler. Has anyone had this problem and how did they solve it. The U bolt in question does not look original or up to Hunter standards. Also the clevis pin coming up out of the furler to which the tack pendant attaches seems to be binding on something inside of the furler shroud. Does anyone one have any comments or suggestions. Thank you, Jim Sowle

Jim,

Hi there, What brand of furler do you have. On most of them head stay and halyard tension is very important. Additional the angle that your halyard exist the mast and attaches to the upper turnbuckle is critical. If you want an extra set of eyes I'm at Eldean Yacht basin. D-40 455-2792
