Fulton Trailer Swivel Jack jammed

The lift system for the tongue of my H26 trailer will only lift in an area about 4 or 5 inches and binds at either end. The top gear system (under the plastic cap) is OK and well greased. But something to do with the threaded device within the mechanism is binding. I can’t see that it can be taken apart, and it will not “over-extend” and come apart.Anyone been able to do so?Think I may have overloaded and strip the threads?Think I may be purchasing a replacement?Thanks in advance.

Jack rod may be bent

Although that shouldn't limit travel in both directions, unless you're near one end of the jack's range to begin with. Take a look along the barrel of the jack and see. Good luck.PeterH23 "Raven"

Jack Problem

MIke, Had the same problem with the jack on my trailer. I called Fulton and since it was fairly new they replaced it. Make sure you get the real heavy duty. They replaced it with a round unit that seems to work fairly well. Your right about not being able to work on these. I tried every which way and finally gave up and called Fulton. Mike, The best solution is to replace the factory

supplied "low cost" trailer jack with an after market trailer jack. These units will have a higher weight load rating, higher lift ability and better swivel and wheel.It sounds like the dealer replacement jack is still a piece with a questionable smell. I'd bag the warrenity route and step up to a quality solution.RayS/V Speedy

Thanks people - what I did…

Fulton has a nice web site for their products. www.fultonperformance.comI chose the bolt thru 1500 lb model with an 8 inch wheel.It’s also in their “salt water” series (powder coat over zinc).Check out the link. The model I purchased is XP15S.Also, something I learned in this - when ordering from your favorite list of suppliers, the cheapest price may not be the cheapest overall. I purchased from a site that was $2.00 more than the others, but $10.00 cheaper in shipping.Thanks for your input.
