full holding tank

I own a 1986 hunter 31. Each trip to catalina I have fears of my holding tank filling and pumping out into the protected harbor. What is the best method to indicate the level of tank?

Install a tank level indicator.

And check it before flushing. If your tank is plastic, I recommend the Snake River Gauges...no sender inside the tank to clog and require removal and cleaning...instead, foil strips on opposing sides of the outside of the of the tank which measure the resistance between 'em. Check 'em out on the Snake River website at www.snake-river.org (don't ask me why/how they got a .org)...you can buy 'em from the online store here.

Snake River & Metal Tanks

Snake River now makes a gauge for metal holding tanks also. I have one on my 35.5 Hunter and so far it appears to be measuring the level correctly. Dennis will help you.
